DB Video Games Featuring Tenshinhan

BACK TO APPEARANCES

Here are the games Tenshinhan appears in. I've stated whether or not the game is worth buying for Tenshinhan fans. I have not included all of the RPG's made on the early systems, that inevitably include Tenshinhan. I've focused on the ones that really feature him. Also: I didn't decide to include alternate systems for multi-platform games (basically the Budokais/Tenkaichis) because they really just seem native to the PlayStation 2 anyway. They're really just ports on the GameCube and Wii.

NOTE: The Japanese title is listed first and is in bold.

Nintendo GameBoy Advance
Dragon Ball: Advance Adventure

This is by far the greatest DB/Z game made. Luckily, since I like Dragon Ball more than Z, DB got the best game. It's a tight controlling, side-scrolling, platforming, beat 'em up. It also includes a separate fighting mode. You can play through the entire game as Tenshinhan (or basically any other character in the DB universe once you unlock each character) and play as him in the "fighting game" component of this game. This is a dream game for any DB fan. Buy this game if at all possible.

Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Tougeki
Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic warriors

Developed by Bandai (2004)

I debated whether to put this on the list, but Ten's cameo (he is not playable) is really nice (Kuririn's super move has Ten come in and use a Kikoho), so it's worth a look. Not only that, but the game is a fantastic fighter that mimics the series the closest of any other DB game. This is the best 2D Dragon Ball Z fighting game.

Nintendo DS
Dragon Ball Z: Bukuu Ressen
Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2
Cover Description
Developed by Bandai (2004)
Much like the game before it on GameBoy Advance, Tenshinhan only makes a cameo. It's basically the same game.

PC Engine (Turbo CD)
Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Goku Densetsu
Cover Description
Developed by Bandai (1994)
This is actually quite a DB hidden gem. You're Gokou, but you pick 1 of 6 enemies/rivals Gokou fought throughout DB/Z. It's an odd fighting game (strategic fighting) where you don't literally control Gokou's movement... You'd have to play it) The cinemas (with voice acting) are beautiful and are the best in any DB game ever! Even though you can't play as Tenshinhan, this game let's you fight him (with long cinemas) and has a lot of his moves present. It's definitely worth downloading for Ten fans.

Sony PlayStation
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 2
Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Battle 2
Cover Description
Developed by Bandai (1995)
The actually gameplay is pretty slow and not that all enjoyable, but the fact still remains that the game includes a hand drawn, higher resoluton (in relation to other early 2D DBZ fighters) Tenshinhan sprite you can fight with. I wouldn't buy this game just for the sake of Tenshinhan though.

Sony PlayStation 2
Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai
Cover Description
Developed by Dimps (2003)
At its release, there wasn't quite like anything like this for DBZ fans. Great character selection, and the first time I really felt like Tenshinhan was apart of a DBZ game. This is still a fairly weak fighting game.

Dragon Ball Z 2
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2
Cover Description
Developed by Dimps (2004)
I believe this game was a huge leap foward for the series, with new techniques, characters, and cel-shaded graphics. Tenshinhan is even more fun to control.

Dragon Ball Z 3
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3
Cover Description
Developed by Dimps (2004)

Basically this game just brought in more characters and tweaked everything to make an extremely solid 3D DBZ fighter. Get this game to experience the pinnacle of the series.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking!
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi
Cover Description
Developed by Spike (2005)
I have yet to play any of the Tenkaichis, because I got my fill of DBZ characters from the Budokai games. However, this game strays from the traditional 3D fighter and opts for a "3/4" viewpoint and freedom to fly around. This series is supposedly just as great as the series before it.
